The Real Story Behind Orange is the New Black with Piper Kerman

We are thrilled to announce that Piper Kerman, author of the memoir, Orange is the New Black: My Year in Women’s Prison, will serve as keynote speaker at our highly anticipated event this fall. Second Chance is hosting “Orange is the New Black: The Real Story with Piper Kerman” on October 17, 2015 at Qualcomm Hall, with all proceeds benefiting Second Chance.

For 25 years Second Chance has been dedicated to giving people the opportunity to rebuild their lives through programs that provide career and life skills to become a contributing member of society. Second Chance offers prisoner re-entry services, relapse prevention programs and sober-living for adults and youth in need.  This fall’s benefit is intended to help explain where the current prison system is lacking and Second Chance’s answer to getting people off of the streets and into the workforce.

Be sure to join us on October 17 for a chance to meet Piper Kerman and speak with Second Chance representatives. In addition to Kerman’s 30-minute presentation, the evening will also include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live music and an original one-act play based on the inspiring stories of Second Chance members. Guests will also have the opportunity to hear from Second Chance graduates on how proceeds from the evening will aide in Second Chance’s mission to help adults and youth in need.

Seats are limited, so if you haven’t yet purchased your tickets to this highly anticipated event, be sure to do so soon! Second Chance has provided four different ticket options, including a package for Orange is the New Black fans that includes a meet and greet with Piper Kerman!
