A Lasting Legacy...
SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE
An excerpt from Diane Bell's column dated August 14, 2007
Scott Silverman recognized a man from Boston dropping off clothing for the homeless the other day at Second Chance, his operation to help the needy.
The visitor was Brett Bersson, the son of Victor Kops, a clinical psychologist from Del Mar who recently passed away. Bersson, here to settle his father's affairs, was donating Kops' clothes. Kops had championed the homeless ever since he
was appointed in the mid-1980s to a task force on the homeless.
"There is almost nothing Victor wouldn't have done while he was alive to help the homeless," Silverman said. "Now, he's helping them even in death."
