This Thursday, March 20, during Larry King Live on CNN (6-7 PM Pacific time, channel 31 for Cox, 26 for Time Warner) Scott H. Silverman, the founder and executive director of Second Chance, will be named a CNN Hero. A short news story about Second Chance and Scott is scheduled to premiere on Thursday, with an extended version of the piece airing intermittently throughout the next week on both CNN and CNN Headline News. Of course, breaking news could change this schedule at the last minute. Second Chance will also be featured on the CNN website www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2008/cnn.heroes for the next week. Tune in to watch Scott and Second Chance in action!

There are many exiting events coming up for Second Chance! Please join us for any of these opportunities:

Class 117 Graduation on March 21, 2008 at 11 AM. Join us for a chance to hear the stories of Class 117 and their hopes for the future.

Recovery Ambassadors Workshop on March 29, 2008 from 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM. A one-day training designed to help those in recovery, their families and those involved in the recovery community learn about grass roots advocacy to reduce the stigma associated with recovery.

Community Job & Resource Fair on May 16, 2008 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. Employers and community resource groups from throughout San Diego will be on hand to accept applications, conduct interviews and hand out information to Second Chance graduates and the surrounding community. Employer and resource booths are available, and all members of the community are invited to attend.

Adopt-A-House on May 17, 2008 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon. Be a real or virtual volunteer to help beautify Second Chance's eight sober living homes.
