To disrupt the cycles of incarceration and poverty by helping people find their way to self-sufficiency.

Second Chance carries out its mission by providing workforce readiness training and job placement programs to youth and adults.  Second Chance also delivers wrap-around services including transitional housing, behavioral health treatment and financial literacy to help our participants reach self-sufficiency.

Our nationally known Job Readiness Training program develops appropriate workplace behavior, effective interviewing techniques, job search skills, and a positive outlook toward working and building a career.

Each year, nearly 80 percent of Second Chance graduates find employment within six months of completing workforce training. After two years, 70 percent are still employed.

These life transformations mean a more stable community, a reduction in government costs, and a powerful response to California’s prison realignment program.
